I have bad credit because of unfortunate circumstances. I'm working on building it back up, but I'm not able to obtain a mortgage loan. Can my brother purchase a house on my behalf, or is that illegal? I will take over the monthly payments (principle, interest, taxes, insurance). However, my brother is a little reluctant, saying that it's fraud. He'd rather purchase the home as "investment property".
