When you open a checking account - checking credit?

Question by Huntsman: When you open a checking account - checking credit?
Do they just check your ChexSystems report or do they also check your credit rating?

I know that you can get turned down for bad credit.
But people that have bad credit have old checking accounts that are in a mess also.

Can you just have bad credit but a perfect history of checking and still open a checking account?

Note a personal question - just curious.
